The Reverse Roundshaw – 25/8/14 – Just a quick summary
At first it really was not too wet.
But then it did really start to pour.
Our brave volunteers sheltered as best they could –there are too many of you to list now, but then, you know who you are, thanks to you all very much indeed. It’s a really tough job on a horrible day – but you did it with enthusiasm.
And the runners pushed on regardless (first place lady above).
Showing great determination, and indeed hats!
We had Petts Wood Runners (first place man above), Chiltern Church Runners, Collingwood AC runners and even (bless them for this) 3 King’s Church Runners from High Wycombe who braved the long journey to us.
Not in the results section – but doing their bit and taking part with a single lap were; Rhys Vaughan, Josie Dewey, Meg Darby, also Justine and Erika King.
Special thanks to Calver Groom Financial Management for underwriting the event, Jayne Howick for acting as Race Secretary, and Martin Lloyd for lending his timing expertise. Also a nod to Roundshaw Downs parkrun who leant us their signs, hi-vis jackets etcetera – and indeed their course (backwards)! Also Mark’s gazebo was a great help.
Early indications are that we have raised over £850 in entry fees and sponsorship – a great result for the children of Kagera who African Child Trust support.
Finished!
